According to the European Environment Agency, about 45,000 people die prematurely in Poland each year & nbsp; due to air pollution. Warsaw, like many other cities in the world, has been struggling with the problem of smog for years. On January 9, 2017, air quality in Warsaw was the worst among the largest cities in the world. Experts believe that the main cause of the problem is the lack of deeper public awareness and education about smog and its long-term consequences. The documentary Smog Wars will be a record of a several-month investigation to ultimately help find the best solution.

Here is what Michał Konopa says – the originator and producer of this undertaking.

“We are making a film about smog, because we are pissed off by dirty air in Warsaw, especially in winter. We want people to be more aware of this problem and its consequences for health. We want Warsaw to have more ecological solutions in the city and avoid unnecessary emissions. This is a project independent, grassroots, for which no one pays us. We do it out of our heart’s needs. That is why we have created a fund-leasing website through which this project can be supported. ”
